“I don’t like clothes that have brand names on them,” says Comish. “I have a pretty short, curvy body, so I try to dress in a flattering way for that, which means not a lot of boxy things. Motorcycling dictates what I wear almost all the time. I probably used to wear a lot more skirts, but now I’m always wearing jeans and boots, even in the summertime. “I feel like I dress kind of boring,” says Comish. “I think about colors a lot, so I’m pretty picky about colors. The colors I wear are the colors I feel, which sounds super dorky. I like colors that are a mix of other colors. I don’t like a color that’s a pure color, I like a color that’s been diluted with another color. “I’ve been riding for four years now,” says Comish. “It’s my main transportation. I don’t have a car or anything. I have a bicycle for snowy days. It’s my main transportation, and it’s my favorite thing—I love it.” Photo: Tyson Call @clancycoop
“With my old bike, I felt like I had more leering. I don’t know if things are different now—if there’s more women motorcyclists or if my new bike is different,” says Comish. “Now, less leering, and more men want to talk to me about the bike. My bike will be outside someplace, and I’ll be inside a place with my helmet, and a man will come up to me and say, ‘Is that your Ducati outside?’ and want to talk to me specifically about what this bike is like, which is way better.
