On March 2, 2013, in the renowned Town Hall Theatre in New York, celebrated television star and coveted “man’s man,” Nick Offerman, graces the stage shirtless, hairy and prepped to offer his “10 Tips for a Prosperous Life.” Changing up the general stand-up routine with multiple musical interludes with acoustic guitar in hand, Offerman offers no mercy to the weak and slothful. His general advice to everyone is to not be an asshole and eat red meat, but there’s more to it than just that. Offerman’s persona as the grizzly bear inside the body of a mustached man works perfectly with his arguments about how all the attention toward gay marriage is taking the spotlight away from vegetarians being allowed to wed and procreate. His love for J. R. R. Tolkien runs rampant as well as his fascination with those who fornicate with microwaved cantaloupes. Rightfully, he encourages society to stop wasting their time on Twitter and their cell phones and live. “Rather than playing Draw Something … draw something.” If you ever so desired to hear the sexual escapades of actress Megan Mullally (Offerman’s wife), your thirst shall be quenched enthusiastically. Draped in an American flag button-up shirt, Offerman amusingly represents the male species before the word manscaping was ever spoken aloud.
