CrucialFest 5 Gallery: Area 51 and Urban Lounge – Day Three
Festival Coverage
Day Three of Croosh was a veritable gauntlet of music. A few bands had unfortunately dropped off the bill, including Captured! By Robots and Stickfigures, but there was still barely room to breathe between sets at Area 51. While there was a wide variety of music styles, the day certainly had a post-rock feel to it. Bands like Salt Lake’s own Anthems, Exes, and Worst Friends brought a bit more punk/crust/hardcore action to the sets. National acts like Kowloon Walled City and Giant Squid drew huge crowds stoked to see their complex brands of post-metal live. The night and festival wrapped up with a venue change to Urban Lounge. After the rocking fun of Turbo Chugg and the doomy sludge of Uzala, locals Eagle Twin put on a set to be reckoned with (as always). The fest was capped with a performance by LA’s famous doom metal outfit Goatsnake.
