Dodsferd
The Parasitic Survival of the Human Race
Moribund
Street: 03.18
Dodsferd = Mayhem + Nadiwrath + Horna
There are no boundaries of hatred when it comes to Greece’s Dodsferd, and it’s not for show. The creative output comes from Wrath, who, for a long time, made music alone. The new album has a full lineup with that hate intensified. What is the hate focused toward? Humanity, as the very obvious album title suggests. Dodsferd remain one of the more intense bands in black metal by way of lyrical attacks—no thought is spared. Musically, Dodsferd have always been a noisy blunt force. The Parasitic Survival of the Human Race is intensified by its live quality. Samples of the large-scale rioting in Greece are included on the record as an indication of that hate. Musically, things get really raw here. Dodsferd explores some black n’ roll and a highly punk-fueled style, but to its rawest potential. Listening will incite hate in your heart. The Parasitic Survival of the Human Race is an embodiment of what black metal was meant to be about, and it’s damned awesome. –Bryer Wharton
