Jello Biafra and The New Orleans Raunch and Soul All-Stars = The Animals + Ernie K. Doe + Jello Biafra + John Fred and His Playboy Band

This live album is the result of a night inspired by debauchery and Bill Davis (Dash Rip Rock) and Fred Le Blanc (Cowboy Mouth) daring Jello Biafra to sing classic soul and rhythm and blues. Walk on Jindal’s Splinters is a perfect combination of the brilliantly absurd and truly talented.

Whether it’s Biafra belting out “House of the Rising Sun” or “Judy in Disguise,” his unique singing style makes each number a superbly well done performance. That being said, this album is more of a novelty and shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

It’s great, and Biafra and the backing band do their part, but unless you’re looking for a collector’s item, seeking out the original artists who were covered for the numbers on Walk On Jindal’s Splinters will be more worth your money. –Nick Kuzmack
